On Friday, September 14, 2007, the state appeals court in Lake Charles, Louisiana threw out the aggravated battery conviction of Mychal Bell, one of the Jena Six students, stating that he should not have been tried and convicted as an adult for his alleged role in last year’s fight with a white high school classmate in Jena, La.  Read the entire press release below.
