Special Rapporteur Reports to UN Human Rights Council
The UN Special Rapporteur on Adequate Housing, Ms Raquel Rolnik, made her first report to the UN Human Rights Council today. The report, entitled “Promotion and Protection of all Human Rights, Civil, Political, Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, including the Right to Development” makes some excellent comments on the impact of the current financial crisis on housing and the importance of adopting a rights-based, rather than commodity-based approach to housing.
