Nationwide Civil Disobedience Actions for Health Care for All

At yesterday’s national day of action for "Patients Not Profits," campaigners held sit-ins at insurance company offices in nine cities across the country (in New York City, Washington, D.C., Cleveland, Phoenix, Palm Beach, Boston, Reno, Portland, Ore., and Los Angeles). The sit-ins were organized by the new campaign Mobilization for Health Care for All. The campaign estimates that over 54 people were arrested in yesterday’s actions.

A next round of sit-ins will be held on October 28, and people can pledge to participate here.

Mobilization for Health Care states that "this campaign of nonviolent civil disobedience will continue until the insurance companies no longer stand between the American people and the health care that is our right."
