Justice_Theater_Conference

NESRI partner United Workers’ Justice Theater Conference brought together social and economic justice organizers and human rights activists, with theater, art, storytellers, and puppet makers. Together they shared skills, culture, struggles and a vision for a world free from poverty.  Participants explored the intersection of theater and struggles for dignity and justice through Theater of the Oppressed, the Battle of Stories Framework, street theater and puppet making. Presenters included: Classlines, Theater Action Group (TAG), Puppet Underground, Bashi Rose and Mitchell Ferguson with NOMMO Theater, and the United Workers.  The theater conference set the stage for the United Workers’ Human Rights Zone Campaign spring event.  Our Harbor Day, on May 1, 2010, will be a huge theatrical participation play at the Baltimore Inner Harbor.
