Raquel Rolnik, UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Adequate Housing, will appear before the UN Human Rights Commission in Geneva tomorrow. There she will present her report entitled “Promotion and Protection of All Human Rights, Civil, Political, Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights Including the Right to Development,” based on her first official Fact Finding Mission to the US in the Fall of 2009. NESRI and the Centre on Housing Rights and Evictions (COHRE) have organized a side event tomorrow, also at the UN’s Geneva Headquarters, where a new trailer for a soon to be released documentary about her US Mission will be previewed. Below is a short video statement from the Special Rapporteur on the last day of her Mission in the US. The interview was captured by NESRI on a Flip camera. To view the press release for tomorrow’s events click here.
