United Workers to Rally for Human Right to Work with Dignity on May Day

United Workers Rally in Baltimore

After more than a year of planning and preparation, hundreds of Baltimore’s low-wage workers and allies will tell the "people’s history of the Inner Harbor" on May 1, 2010 through a series of elaborate storytelling performances intended to draw attention to poverty-wages and poor working conditions in Baltimore’s premiere tourist and entertainment district. The event, dubbed "Our Harbor Day" and organized by NESRI partner United Workers, will include street plays, giant puppets, neighbourhood parades, musical performances, and a concluding rally and march from City Hall to the Inner Harbor. Listen to a radio interview podcast of NESRI’s Kate Caldwell and the United Workers who yesterday appeared on the Marc Steiner Show on WEAA 88.9FM and spoke about the Human Rights Zone Campaign against developers in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.
