From the Brattleboro Reformer editorial: "It shouldn’t have to be this way. A campaign in Vermont to declare that health care is a human right? Aren’t we more civilized than that? Don’t we have equal respect for everyone when it comes to our personal health? Sadly, we need the campaign because health care has never been a human right in this country or this state. The Vermont Workers Center has taken up the cause and they have done one of the best jobs, in recent memory, of grassroots organizing. Against all odds, including my initial skepticism, they managed to get the Vermont legislature to not only craft but also pass a health care bill that paves the way for major reform of Vermont’s health care system."
