The Community Farmworker Alliance NYC, allies of the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW), held a protest in front of Trader Joe’s on Thursday August 19th. They were joined by various labor, religious and community groups in front on the newly-opened grocery store in Chelsea. The 100-person strong protest called on Trader Joe’s to sign a fair labor agreement and informed its customers of the human rights violations occurring in the fields where the tomatoes sold at Trader Joe’s are harvested. Read the complete article on The Examiner.
