White House Awards CIW Presidential Medal for Extraordinary Efforts in Combating Modern Day Slavery
Lauding the Coalition of Immokalee Workers and underscoring the unmatched success of its Worker-Driven Social Responsibility model for eradicating modern slavery in corporate supply chains, Secretary of State John Kerry presented the CIW with this well deserved award. The award reads:
“For its extraordinary efforts to combat human trafficking by pioneering the Fair Food Program, empowering agricultural workers, and leveraging market forces and consumer awareness to promote supply chain transparency and eradicate modern slavery on participating farms, we award this Presidential Medal.”
