We are Excited to Announce our new Co-Executive Director!
As we mark our 15th anniversary in a time of profound change, Partners for Dignity & Rights is excited to announce Kenyon Farrow as our new Co-Executive Director! Kenyon will lead our organization together with Co-Executive Director, Liz Sullivan-Yuknis, working with our entire staff and Board team, as we continue to advance human rights, economic and racial justice.
Kenyon brings decades of experience building and mobilizing grassroots networks, leading policy campaigns, and facilitating organizational growth. Under Kenyon and Liz’s leadership, we look forward to deepening our long-term partnerships and renewing our demand for collective liberation. Kenyon most recently leaves his position as senior editor of TheBody.com, but has spent many years working as an organizer, policy expert and media strategist, having served as U.S. & Global Health Policy Director for Treatment Action Group and Executive Director of Queers for Economic Justice, as well as a staff member with Critical Resistance and Housing Works, and a founding board member of FIERCE! in New York City.
In Kenyon’s words, “People are really mobilizing to demand a new society – one that values human life, particularly Black life, but also that values those lives over greed, profit motives, and consumerism. Partners for Dignity & Rights has a framework for a multi-issue, justice-focused organizing and policy platform to play a leading role in shaping how we move toward a new society in the 21st century. I’m really excited to join the team to continue this work with our partners.”
“Kenyon shares a deep commitment to our model of partnership with grassroots communities and our vision for community-driven solutions to fight structural inequities and transform our society,” shares Liz Sullivan-Yuknis. “I am thrilled to be working with Kenyon to advance our mission for economic and social rights!”
As we embark on the next exciting chapter in our growth as an organization, Partners for Dignity & Rights will remain forever grateful for the exemplary leadership of Cathy Albisa, one of our founders and our original Executive Director.
“For 15 years she has nurtured the growth and development of Partners for Dignity & Rights from an inspiration to an important human rights organization,” says Patrick Mason, Board Chair, Partners for Dignity & Rights. “Even as Partners for Dignity & Rights is rightly proud of our past 15 years, we are also enthusiastic about what we plan to accomplish over the next 15 years.”
As Cathy has said, “The success of our social justice and human rights movements lies in building sustainable organizations that can carry on for the long haul. This work is not a sprint, or even a marathon. It is a relay race.” We thank Cathy for her dedication, leadership, and a never-ending faith in human rights and inclusive democracy, and welcome Kenyon to help lead us going forward!
