Introducing our 20th Anniversary Gala Special Honoree: Centro de Trabajadores Unidos en la Lucha – CTUL!

We are excited to introduce Centro de Trabajadores Unidos en la Lucha – CTUL as one of our three special honorees at our 20th anniversary gala! CTUL is a worker-led organization based in Minnesota, whose members organize, educate, and empower each other to fight for justice in the workplace & for their communities. Since 2007 and as of last winter, CTUL supported workers in winning back over $6.3 million in unpaid wages.
CTUL members play key roles in coalitions to raise the minimum wage in Minnesota, win earned sick & safe time for workers, and support worker-driven labor standards. Working with our Worker-driven Social Responsibility Network (WSRN) & the Minneapolis Building Dignity and Respect Standard Council, CTUL was able to get two Minneapolis non-profit housing developers to lead the way in committing to the Building Dignity and Respect Program. Now in response, more developers are joining the Program, pledging to ensure that their contractors and subcontractors comply with a code of conduct which outlines protections for workers from extreme weather to safeguards against retaliation, wage theft, and sexual harassment.
CTUL’s work ensures that the human rights of workers – especially low-wage workers – are protected and advanced. We are honored to celebrate our 20th anniversary by uplifting CTUL’s incomparable work.
