Introducing our 20th Anniversary Gala Special Honoree: Susan Blaustein & WomenStrong International!

We are thrilled to introduce the third of our three special honorees at our 20th anniversary gala on May 21, 2025 – Susan Blaustein and WomenStrong International! Susan is the founder and President of WomenStrong’s Board and Strategic Advisory Council, as well as a beloved board member of Partners for Dignity & Rights. We would not be where we are today without her passion and support, and we are so proud to honor her for our 20th anniversary.
WomenStrong is a global non-profit that finds, funds, strengthens, and shares women-driven solutions that will transform lives in urban communities. Through their collective learning and sharing, WomenStrong is building a global network of organizations better equipped to advance the rights and wellbeing of women and girls worldwide.
Prior to establishing WomenStrong, Susan spent decades leading various organizations committed to sustainable urban development and conflict prevention throughout the Global South, and efforts of international criminal tribunals to prosecute gross human rights abusers. She has also reported for publications such as The New Yorker, Harper’s, The Wall Street Journal, The Nation, The New Republic and the Los Angeles Times on conflict, politics, economics, and social injustice.
Today, she teaches at The Earth Institute’s Sustainability Management Program and is researching her book, Toward a Just and Sustainable City, on essential ecosystems enabling community-driven urban development.
Join us in 4 weeks at our 20th anniversary gala on May 21 to honor Susan and hear directly from her about WomenStrong International’s critical work and how we can all uplift it.
