From September 2012 through December 2013, members of Healthcare Is a Human Right – Maryland surveyed nearly 900 people across 10 counties in their state. They asked people about their access to health care as well as their opinions on health care as a human right and the kind of health care system they would like to see in Maryland. NESRI and Healthcare Is a Human Right – Maryland are collaborating to analyze the survey data, and will soon publish a report on the findings. This fact sheet offers a preliminary look at the survey data, revealing both a huge unmet need for health care in Maryland and people’s readiness for a universal, publicly financed health care system.
