Corporate Accountability
We are building a world rooted in justice where everyone is treated with dignity and people can thrive. Yet from the factory floor to the classroom, from the fields to your local city council, massive corporations are trampling human rights, destroying democracy, and ruining our planet.
Partners for Dignity & Rights campaigns alongside worker organizations and community groups to push back against the corporate power grab, win remedy for those who have been harmed, and make human rights real and enforceable.
Partners for Dignity & Rights has worked for decades with worker organizations to advance creative, effective enforcement programs, including the Fair Food Program, the International Accord, the Milk with Dignity Program, and the Lesotho Agreement on Gender-based Violence. These programs have been recognized globally as defining best practices for protecting workers’ rights and furthering corporate accountability.
Today, we collaborate with movement partners and grassroots organizations to:
- Create a world where corporate impunity is out, and worker-driven corporate accountability is the norm;
- Build on best practices and adapt enforcement models to the unique challenges of each community’s specific industries and geographies;
- Publish analysis of the shadowy networks of corporate power that help drive exploitation;
- Take on false solutions that prop up corporate power and undermine public goods;
- Support the development of infrastructure and strong coalitions to build powerful movements for human rights;
- Develop strategic campaigns to take on corporations and win both basic rights and structural change.
Our approach has won millions of dollars for low-wage workers across the world, built momentum for binding agreements to protect workers’ rights, and set precedents establishing that corporations are responsible for the consequences of their actions.
